Default Re-Jointing

Has anyone had any good success with replacing the Joint Roll (the round washer piece that goes over the hinge pin)? I am curious if they require a lot of fitting. Also, if you have a gun that is off face and you replace the Joint Roll, can this make the gun tight? I have heard that it can go both ways, i.e. sometimes the gun is looser. Finally on extractor guns is the Joint Roll the same size for all frame sizes?

Thanks,

Guy

Guy,
I recently made a new joint roll for a fellow member and added the .003 that he needed. The gun tightened up nicely but making a new joint roll is not that easy. From what I have seen each roll is a little different and was fitted at assembly. It's much easier to send your gun to a guy like Russ Bickle and have him put it back on face by building up the barrel hook. Russ has the equipment and know how and recently did a Parker for me.
