Gary, American Walnut Company in St Joseph, Missouri for Juglans nigra. The company has changed hands but still around and still supplying wood to the trade. Blanks from trees grown in Iowa, northern Missouri, eastern Kansas and Nebraska. The company produces both gunstock blanks and furniture grade lumber. American Walnut kiln dries but I know stock makers here who buy a pallet still green and then they air dry it for a couple years.
