Matt, My father was a gunner on a B29. They were damaged by flak over Tokyo. They had to make a forced landing on Iwo Jima while the battle was still going on. My dad told me to shake hands with every Marine I met because what they did at Iwo saved his life. So happy birthday to the Marines.
