Default Parker Invincibles

I was looking on the internet to learn about the Parker Invincibles. There seems to be differing opinions about these 3 guns. At least to me there seems to be very few pictures of the 3 guns. On the NRA site there are pictures of one gun 230329. But they have a shot with all 3 guns and two look nearly identical, different stocks and triggers are different. The other doesn't look at all like an Invincible at all.

Here is what the internet says distinguishes the Invincibles form other Parker guns.

Contains unique frame features, including side clips on the bolsters and a rebated frame where the stock fits, designed to prevent stock splitting. It also lacks the characteristic recessed hinge pin of other Parker models.
Has more lavish engraving and elaborate scenes, including gold bird inlays on the sides and bottom of the frame. The checkering and engraving patterns are executed with superlative detail.

I am not an expert that is why I am asking this. The bottom gun has a recessed hinge pin, no gold and the other things listed I really don't know what they are.

The bottom gun in the NRA picture to me does not look like an Invincible it looks like an A1 Special and not that great of an A1 Special.

Any ideas of what is really an Invicible and why is the lower gun one?

There are a lot of photos of the 3 invincibles on our site here in the pgca staff photo albums.
I think the one photo of the 3 guns from the NRA site is two of the invincibles and serial no. 100,000 which is also in their collection. That is the pistol grip double trigger gun that you picture above. It is not an invincible.

As far as stocking, the second invincible was restocked at some point. But the gun wears its original stock again now.

Default New pictures

There are no picures on this site that will show up on my computer. However I have found another shot of the 3. I think it clears up the question.

Richard, you owe yourself a trip to the NRA museum. Number one, it's free and open nearly all the time. There is much more to see than the Invincibles. The Robert Petersen collection is of great interest to sporting gun collectors, and it is only a small part of the museum collection. The collection is on a very complex website that is searchable.

That photo that jim posts shows the restocked gun in the middle it is actually the third invincible. The gun now wears its original stock.

Rich;

For a detailed series of posts on the Invincibles, search this site for James Brown's 2-11-2012 post which starts a thread with a number of interesting details on these guns.
