Default "Friday Night Feed" at the Northern SxS

Greetings all!! We are two weeks away from the 2025 edition of the Northern SxS Challenge. Our Friday menu is shaping up. We will have various styles of quail, venison backstraps, deep fried pheasant/chukar/grouse (by Derek Farrell), deep fried perch filets (by Dan Steingraber). We can still use more hors d'oeuvres, maybe a main dish or two, some veggies and as always, plates/bowls/utensils/napkins, etc....

Please PM me or reply to this thread if you are bringing anything besides an appetite to the "Feed". As always, Hawaiian shirts are the uniform if possible and if you wear a Hawaiian shirt you will get leid!! d!!

Hey Mike I have to work that day, but am I allowed to bring another SxS shooter with me to dinner? I can bring a dish of course, or two. I'm done with work about 3:30 so shooting that day is out for me but would love to see everyone.

Join us Andy. Just because you're shooting another day doesn't mean you can come to The Feed.

I'll bring deviled eggs again but they may not be as good as Stan's. But they'll be good. I'll also bring some baby sweet pickled beets. And I'll help Dan with the perch deep fry.

I'll be wearing a pretty Hawiian shirt but please be gentle when I get leid'd.

To officially start the event, I can bring my Winchester Model 1898 Signal Cannon and shoot off some of those 10 gauge blanks loaded with 8 drams of black powder. A nice BOOM and white smoke.

Bill,

I always look forward to you using the Signal Cannon, I haven't acquired a Winchester Cannon yet, but when I do, it will be your fault

Never too many deviled eggs.

PS. I look forward to showing you a certain prototype SBT that you put me on, see ya soon.

Stan: That's great that you got that Ithaca prototype SBT. It could not have found a better home. I'm sure many others will enjoy seeing it too.

A few years back when my sika deer hunting friend had a cabin in the Poconos I spent quite a few evenings in watering holes in the Poconos and it amazed me the number of deviled boiled eggs the local guys consumed When I’d come up for the PA deer opener the group I hunted with always wanted to have boiled ham/cabbage/potatoes the night before and of course there was a jar of boiled deviled eggs for cocktail hour . Needless to say I kept my hunting clothes in a plastic garbage bag until time to get dressed so they didn’t pick up the uh “aroma” of the bunk room
