Default Alliant

Precision Reloading has green dot if anyone is interested. The other Alliant powders they advertise are not familiar to me for shot shells.

They also have Promo which is the budget version of Red Dot.

Question is, where and when did they get these Alliant powders, could it be Alliant powders are back in production to some extent. As far as I can tell only Precision has this at the present time.

It didn't take long for them to run out and as fast as it went $50+ a pound with shipping and hazmat is the new normal.

Yep. $390. for 8# of Green Dot, plus $27. Hazmat, plus shipping ($20?), plus 6% sales tax for me = about $463. or $58. per pound.

When I called about the powder, of course it was already sold out. I did ask if it came from Alliant and the gent on the phone said yes. Your guess is as good as mine.

Recently got a notice from Midway on a one of the Alliant powders I had on my "waiting for" list now discontinued. Reloader 26 is no more! Not sure how many of their other powders are gone from the market.

Got a couple of # of 26, had actually forgotten about this want list item until the notice came. Have really had slightly better results with Retumbo in my 6.5 PRC. Shoot RL25 in a couple other rifles. Haven't seen any of it available but stashed several pounds away last time I saw some. "if you shoot and you see it, buy it!" True words.

I use RL-25 in the 6.5 Sherman Short Mag and US-869 (Hodgdon) in the 26 Nosler . Also use RL-22 a fair bit .
