Default Shopping at the Southern

I really look forward to all aspects of the Southern but it's a great shopping event. Not so much buy, buy, buy but an opportunity to handle such a great variety of guns. It seems ever year I'm not really looking for a new gun but most years I end up with something new LOL. As I pack my stuff for next week I wonder what will follow me home. How about you? Do you have a specific Parker in mind or is your field of view open?

No Parkers but I'm hoping there is a smallbore Fox with my name on it.

If I buy something at The Southern, it’s not from perusing the tents. 99.9% of anything I buy there is prearranged before I’m even packed and heading south. If I go into the tents it’s to visit with my buddies at the Lefever booth and that’s only after I’m done shooting for the day.

To me it's not the "take" that's important . It's the thrill of the hunt.
I spend most of my time in the tents talking to friends, new and old, and looking at guns.

In my mind it is the event to kick off the year. See lots of old friends and fondle a gun or two. Just maybe you might find something the fits a need or at least a perceived need. Good food and sometimes goof weather. Guns that are priced right will move. That said it's always about supply and demand. Small bores will cost more just like they always do.

I’m just glad to be able to go…and I always bring an empty gun case, just in case.
