Sure wish someone in the PGCA had a upper level contact at Remington Visa that could help break lose SP-10 and SP-8 wads.

About a year ago when i got some response from them they claimed they’d be making the SP-10 again but had no intentions of making the SP-8 anylonger . Have you heard something different on the SP-8 ?

I could be quite wrong but I don’t think they use the SP-8 in their industrial loads .

Well miracles never cease I just called them and talked to the fellow on the webpage . He said he’d see if he could find any or whether there’s any chance of making anymore .

Good morning,
I have a Hopkins and Allen 8 gauge single with a twist 36” barrel.
I have brass hulls and BP wads as well as a brass hand loading kit.
I am looking for reloading information.
Hoping to find a recipe for Hodgdon Longshot.
Pheasant tower shoot at Deep Woods coming up next month.
I also have 10 of the black #3 bismuth shells Morris B. kindly gave me but do not want to shoot them all.
Also looking for fiber wads to fill up space in my 3 7/16” hulls.
Also looking for load information for my 1809 Manton percussion 16gauge SxS.

We have done testing with various powders for 8g clays that are 1 1/2 oz of shot. Those recipes will be published in the Spring issue of Parker Pages. There is one recipe for Longshot as in order to have proper pressures you need to have a heavy shot charge.

I am familiar with the operating pressures for the lesser gauges so what is the pressure you are shooting for in the big 8? Asking for a friend.
