Default The Big 8's Compete at the Southern

The 8ga 5 stand event at the Southern was a big success with good natured competition and big fun had by all the shooters. This year we had 14 shooters and three squads, up from 5 shooters last year. It was great to see more participation and our little group grow. I guarantee everyone who left the line had a huge smile on their face. The event was won by Dave deFernelmont with a score of 28 out of 30, great shooting Dave! Dave was shooting an L.C. Smith.

Picture 4 left to right: Stan Hoover-23, Parker, Dave deFernelmont-28, L.C. Smith, Rick Ghenn-13, Lefever (Rick had a number of blooper reloads and only missed one target when the shell went off!), Jim Stahl-13, L.C. Smith.
Thanks to all that participated it was BIG fun, next year a repeat for sure with hopefully more shooter.

I'm betting that "Corona-19", "Doc Damascus" and Team Bo-Whoop...dba "Philly's Phinest" will have something cooked-up for you 8-bore disciples at Hausmann's as well. Just sayin'

We had an impromptu 8 gauge event at Hausemanns in June last year . But this year the Parker banquet will be the weekend of the Vintage Cup so I’ll not make it to HHH SC this year . I sold one of your guys a Parker hammer 8 atSanford last year and it my under standing he added a second Parker GH 8 this past weekend in Sanford .

The BIG 8’s will be along at Hausmans in June, as there are now 2 8 gauge underlifters in the cave

Thanks Craig L for heading up this Big Fun get together again, and for providing the trophy!

Congrats to Dave D for some fine shooting

Yes, all you 8ga junkies stay tuned for a great 8ga event at Ernie's this year. Bring your 8ga cannons and your smallbores for some spirited competition at the world renowned BoWhoop set-up.

I am happy to be in the club now! I had way too much fun at this event with my new to me 8 gauge Parker hammer gun. Craig Thompson not only sold me me the gun, but let me use his fantastic reloads for the event.

The next step for me is to get set up to reload for 8 gauge. Hopefully I can make at least 1 more of the 8 gauge events this year.
