Default Parker identification

Hello,
How can I determine all of the details on a PB shotgun. It is a side by side. It is engraved. Based on serial number it was made in 1897. Are there any serious collectors out there? How do I determine value for insurance?
Thanks in advance. JM

First, post the full serial number. We have a book that will identify the original features of most Parkers. Second, post pictures of all views of your gun.

the easiest to add pictures is to click go advanced under the quick post window and then scroll down when you are posting and there is a grey bar labeled "manage attachments" - click on that - browse your computer for your pictures - open them and then click upload

serial number 86887 is listed as a grade 2 hammerless 12ga with 30" damascus barrels and a capped pistol grip stock

Identification info is on the homepage. Values for insurance can be had from the blue book.
