1904 GH won’t open. Top lever stuck

My friend just bought a 1904 top lever 10 gauge with 30” Damascus barrels. After shooting a couple warning shots at a nice gobbler he discovered that the gun won’t open. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

If its a hammer gun make sure the firing pin is not stuck in the primer

Not uncommon in the old bolt design. harsh as it sounds, a dowel against the top lever and a firm but not too aggressive wrap will open it. It will happen again.
