Default 16 ga 1 1/2 frame

Was talking to someone about a 1 1/2 16 ga. How common/uncommon are these? I should have asked about the weight(was offered the gun). Definitely not a grouse gun, but would be a cool SC gun. How many of these made in 16 ga?

Harold I don't believe that there is a way for us to determine how many were made in that frame size. Some more knowledgeable folks will surely chime in with some ideas. I would think that our Researcher may have some information to offer on that topic. In my opinion I do not know that the word rare is accurate however uncommon would certainly seem to be appropriate. I have seen very few of these. I have a DHE 16 gauge with 32 inch barrels that weighs in at 7 lbs 4 oz. Straight stock, double trigger gun. With a nice 7/8 oz load it's more like shooting a 410. Very very much fun.

Nice gun Randy, a 1 frame I assume? The 1 1/2 frame is a grade 3 also. In other times I might have jumped on it, but with everything happening today, am holding off for now, but my mind could change by morning.

Actually it is a 1 1/2 frame gun. I should have been more specific.

I would call a 1 1/2 frame 16 gauge either scarce or rare.

Jerry if you are inquiring about the gun I referenced that would not be the case. It letters as a 1 1/2 frame 16. Originally a 2 barrel 30/32 set. Unfortunately I do not have the 30" set.

Thanks Randy. A rare bird you have. I was thinking more of Harold's gun not in hand yet.

Actually, the opposite. A set of 12 ga barrels 1 1/2 frame fitted to the original 16 ga gun. Would prefer 2 sets of 16 ga barrels.

I am lucky to have 2 16ga 1 1/2 frames. They are both nice examples but I am drawn the the straight grip 32" gun. It is a San Francisco duck gun and It shoots where I look. The 30 inch pistol grip is a great gun too but I dont have near the confidence of the 32 when I shoot it.
I expect I will sell the latter. These guns are great for Clay's and duck hunting. I have never carried one in the field.
If I were to come across an engraved gun like the DH you describe I would have a very hard time getting away from it. Very Very
