Default Last of My Dove

We ate the last of the dove on the patio last week. It was the first time we had eaten outside as the temps had been in the 90's most of the summer. Now it has gotten to chilly and we had to fire up the furnace.....

Outstanding Harry!! Up our way - it went from mid-summer to late fall in about three days Which reminds me - time to work on some pheasant recipes..? Never had dove, tho'..? Never been to a state where I could shoot them during a season?? (HINT - HINT - HINT..!!! )

As well - couldn't help but notice your iP4....?! I like mine a lot, and I'm working on some code that should help you use/upload pics right from that into the web forums..

John,

I have a 3 something and the 4 belongs to a Submarine buddy of mine that stopped by. I am addicted to the thing.

The dove were breasted, wrapped in bacon and grilled. I served them with acorn squash baked with butter and brown sugar, grits cooked with cream, biscuits and a zinfandel.

Some of the finest meals we will eat are happening for the next couple months. Haven't done a bacon wrap grill but, next fresh rooster will test that out. Weather here is perfect and supposed to continue for at least a week.

Harry; Thats just enough to make me hungry.I like to sprinkle garlic salt, pepper and salt on them and roll them in flour and fry them. I once cooked 20 and ate 12 myself. My wife's son inlaw came along and was in the kitchen about 3 minutes and came out saying how good they were. I asked him how many he ate. He said all of them. Good Grief

John: There are lots of recipes buried here and there in the forums. Would it be worthwhile to have a dedicated "Game recipes" forum to complement the "Hunting with Parkers" forum.

John: A sub-forum of Hunting with Parkers would be a great location. Glad someone (you) knows how to take an idea and make it happen.

Cheers,
Jack

I took a recently deceased spruce hen and did it up in my butter+cream+sherry recipe for dinner this evening. It is definitely that time of year.... tomorrow we're chasing some late ducks, hopefully nice big mature greenheads. I'll be using my 10ga hammer gun.

Hope you have a good hunt. The ones you sent south are filling the skies.
Cheers,
Jack
