Thumbs up Great Read

Hey all, I recently was gifted a great book on side by side shotguns. It talks about Parker guns and I could NOT put it down. It was an easy read, but man was it packed with amazing information! My 11 year old is now reading it and we both have learned something amazing from it. The book is titled "The Traditional Side by Side: King of the Upland Game Birds" by Doug Stewart.

Doug has been hunting upland game birds for over 40 years and the book is filled with awesome photos from his experiences, including beautiful pictures of the Parker guns. My gun collection is just getting started, but after reading this I can't wait to but another Parker. My wife got the book from www.dougstewartauthor.com and I highly recommend it to any gun collector or upland bird hunter! I'd love to hear your thoughts on it as well.

I ordered it, haven't gotten around to reading it yet. Just finished Pointe Moullie book....which was decent, but not what I was expecting.

That's cool, I haven't read that one myself quite yet. Let me know when you finish Doug's book, I'm dying to chat with someone about it.

Bill, I don't have the Pointe Moullie book - does it mention Harvey H. Brown?

Looks like another book to add to the growing pile. I've let several magazines expire because i just cant seem to keep up with them (currently reading July 2017 Sporting Classics),'bout a year behind.
Shawn, I am really looking forward to reading your brothers book on grouse hunting, I posted about it a couple of weeks ago in the General Discussion forum, and I will start it immeadiately, as hunting season is just around the corner.

I've got the reading material stacked on my night stand too...but love to read about guns and dogs and birds.

I'm excited about Andy's book. It's well written and a pleasure to read. I'm proud of him.
