It is a concern. I hope things do not change.

Some states such as New York aren't gun friendly in the first place which is why when going to Earnie's shoot several of us stay in PA. I think in states such as NY you might see a policy shift.

There were certainly plenty of guns being hauled through the Westgate during the Winter Antique & Sporting Arms Show in Las Vegas.

Where do you stay in PA when you are going to Ernie's? We are comfortable with taking guns into the hotel in New York. Are we violating some law?

You could carry a thermonuclear device in a plain black hard impact plastic trunk through the lobby of virtually any hotel/motel I've stayed in for the last 45 years of doing gun shows and no one was ever the wiser. While on travel for work, we wheeled the black plastic oblong display cases that held our tubular wall exhibits all over the country. As I recall, a main concern for the "medium-Michelin-rated" establishments were how long were you going to be using the rolling garment rack carts, and always were admonished to "make sure you put them back where you found them." Go back and look at the Las Vegas security cam tapes and watch how, over the course of 3-4 days, the shooter was able to stockpile his "arsenal of weapons" (LOVE MSNBC!!). He had hotel staff holding doors open for him.

There should not be any problems with guns in hotels or motels in New York. Concerns are not based in any law or regulation. I regularly attend events in NY with guns both long and handguns with no problems. Let's not see boggy men where they are not!

We stay at The Inn in Montrose PA. There is a nice bar/restaurant right downstairs.
