Default High Grade Underlifter

Can you advise? - what was the high grade underlifter hammer gun s/n 12571 that sold today at auction?

12571 is not in the Ser. & ID book but from the pictures I have seen I would say it is at least a Grade 5, possibly a Grade 6.

What was the hammer price?

Hammer price was about $3300 including premium. Sadly answered it myself I think - the top grade D6 (A)?, 1878, in good original shape except heavily refinished barrels, almost obscuring the rib marking - Leland Little auction, with 2 rough G grade guns. Surely we'll see this gun again. Thanks for your help and please add anything else you can.

Grade 6 e frame underlifter 32" DD barrels polished and blued as was the frame and fore end iron. Trigger guard polished and blues loosing a lot of engraving. Locks and hammers as well as skeleton butt plate polished bright diminishing the engraving somewhat. Wood redone years ago. Barrel unstruck weight 6 lb. 6 it's. Order number 3713. Needed help about 3-4 K to bring it back right and a years wait. With a 23% buyers premium and shipping about &3,500.00 or so. Borderline for a 10 gauge IMHO.

Hammer price of 3300.00 that included buyers premium? and 3000.00 to put back to original, I would have jumped all over that! They did not make many grade 6 lifter guns, according to The Parker Story only 18, and with 32"DD Barrels, I think some one got a great gun at a good price, Just me talking Gary
