Default Double Pin Club Question??

I was informed by Mary that PGCA members can now only receive one Double Club Pin based upon a decision by the BOD's. Now members only receive one pin for their first double but for additional doubles you will receive a letter from the President but no additional pins. Why was this decision made?? Thanks in advance, respectively.

I imagine money has something to do with it. I would be happy to pay for extras. Yeesh. Better hold on to my two

Mills I would also be more than willing to pay for the pins. Shooting a double with a Parker is something special that many may want to reward themselves with a pin even if there is a charge. Craig

How about the first pin is free as now and any other after that for a fee if the member so desires. I would pay for a second pin that is earned.

The pin is not species specific is it?
So either you are in the Doubles Club or not.

Just as a bit of background...

Austin Hogan initiated a "Contributor" pin for those who contributed material for Parker Pages in the way of articles, stories, pictures, etc. and it was accompanied by a nicely printed letter to the contributor in thanks for what he/she had sent for publication.
One pin was sent for the first contribution and with additional contributions, additional thank you letters were sent... not additional pins. Some members have a folder full of these letters of thanks, while some have chosen to frame them for the office or gun room wall. The Doubles Club came along a couple of years later and initially I believe the same parameters were followed. I don't know when or why that may have been changed.

'Once a contributor, always a contributor' I would think.... likewise, 'once a doubles club member, always a doubles club member. In my mind it would be an exercise in redundancy to send additional pins for every re-qualification of shooting a double with a Parker. Now if one were to shoot a double on groundhogs again and again and again and again...... it would be kinda like groundhog day again and again and again.....

As I said, once in the club you are in. I'm not but hope springs eternal.
That being said, if you are in the club you should be able to BUY an extra pin for that extra hat or vest.
Just don't buy an extra pin and give one to Dean.

Since I haven't earned a doubles pin maybe I don't have a say, but in case I do, I'll say this: some of us like to have a pin to wear on a hat, vest, etc., but might like to have another "permanent" pin as a keepsake. Personally I often wear membership pins, but I also have a spot in the gun room where I keep other such pins and mementos, and were I fortunate enough to earn a doubles pin, I'd be more than happy to pay for an extra to make sure I have a lasting one here...
