I've loaded some Bismuth #1 for geese . I was under the impression this stuff was okay for damascus etc . Provided it's not loaded hot of course .

Bismuth is perfectly fine for older ( non steel rated ) guns , don't think matters how fast you run it , except for recoil . I use it with no problems.
