Default 30" , 32" and 34" barrels

I am well aware that 34" barrels in good or better condition have a small premium .

Now does a 32" of equal condition to a 30" barrel add any value to a Parker .

All of this is based on a set of barrels that ring , are good on the inside and the gun locks up tight etc etc .

I don't think it would be an appreciable difference other than in a small bore gun. 30 inch barrels are not that uncommon on a 16 or a 20 but on a 28 they probably are. 32's aren't that uncommon on a 12 but on a 16 and a 20 they can bring a premium. I have never seen anything longer than 30 on a 28 but I'm sure they are out there.

I have only ever heard of one 28ga gun, DHE , with 32"barrels. I think I know who owns it but $75,000 +.

I was pretty much asking about 12 gauge guns . I am sorta looking for a 32" or 34" gun that's IM/F or F/F for use in the state trap SxS event . I already have a pair of VH/VHE guns that are 12 gauge 30" F/F do thought I'd try and find one I liked at 32" or 34" .

David,
I think that gun was offered by Robin Hollow recently.

I did not see it. I know who the two last owners were and knew the recent owner had been selling his collection. How much?

It was on in the last month. Price was POR. I didn't have guts enough to even ask.

Craig, are your 30" trap guns single trigger guns? Have they been reliable? If you want to borrow a 32" trap for the state shoot, let me know. You can have one of mine. However, I don't trust the Parker triggers for a big shoot. I do have a double trigger 32" trap that I would feel comfortable with. I have a way to get it to the shoot and get it back if you are interested. Townsend Breeden will probably be shooting the same even and he is my neighbor. No hurry, think it over.

The two I have are plain old field guns that I sometimes shoot trap with . Thank you for the kind offer , but at the moment I'll say no but thanks .

I do not own an actual Parker , Fox or Smith "target" gun . But I sometimes refer to some of what I have as my skeet and or trap gun . Only American target gun I have at the moment is a decent old Ithaca SBT .

Craig,
My experience is that 32" barrels do command some level of premium, even in a 12 ga. They seem to be scooped up quickly by Parker aficionados. The demand for Sporting Clays Parkers is probably the reason. I have a VHE with 32" barrels and you'd be hard pressed to get it out of my hands.
