Default EH weight difference .

I am curiouse I've seen several EH guns on #2 frames with 30" barrels that were in the 8 1/2 pound range and some #3 guns that were 10ish with 32" pipes . So what area should 32" guns on #4 and #5 frames be approx ? I am only interested in weights of the 10's . Well at the moment .

I have owned one 4 frame 10g hammer gun with 32" barrels. It weighed 10.5 lbs if I remember correctly.

Ejectors were introduced in 1901. And the NH and EH grades were dropped by the time the 1907 Pine Cone catalog came out. So, I am sure that some were made with ejectors in that 6 year period.

I have seen a later GHE in 10g. But that is as close as that gets.

The only thing that was dropped was the EH and NH letter designation of the 10 and 8 ga. Grade 1 and Grade 2 guns. The guns themselves were still being made and Parker Bros. simplified things by using the simpler designation letters of PH and GH. with 10 and 8 Ga. barrels.

But they did make 8g guns with the PH designation as early as prior to 1907. I know of a couple specifically made in 1899.

Yup - there are exceptions to every rule. We find a lot of exceptions with Parker shotguns.

I have two 32" #3 frames that weigh 10 pounds. I have one that weights 9 pounds, 8 ounces. I have a 27" #2 frame ten that weighs about 7 1/4 pounds. All #4 frame hammer guns that I have weighed are just at or under 11 pounds to take advantage of the maximum allowed weight of pigeon guns in the mid 1880s.
