Pete glad to hear Wyatt is ok, you could send the gun to Brad Bachalder and he could repair it so you probably would not see the fix.

Thanks Eric. Brad has worked on this gun before doing the case colors and stock finish. I will call him.

I know I posted this some time ago, but when I broke my 28 ga. Repro at the wrist, I glued it back together with some very strong West Systems 2-part epoxy. The repair has held up fine for around 6-7 years now (I forget exactly), and many days in the field. Didn't cost much (mostly my time) and I didn't have to ship the gun anywhere. I oil-finished the stock and re-cut the checkering. The repair is nearly invisible.
It is, obviously, the bottom gun. Blow it up and see if you can tell where it broke. The other 2 are Garbis that I refinished, a 20 ga. that I added a leather covered recoil pad to, in order to make it long enough (it had been cut down by the previous owner) and probably my favorite gun, a 28 ga. with two sets of bbls, 28" CYL/IC and 30" IC/IM. Anyway, don't discount the possibility of repairing it yourself. Very satisfying work! |

Thanks for the information Joe. You obviously have some pretty good skills with stock repair and finishing. I have messed with a few less valuable stocks but given my lack of time due to farming, ranching, etc., I think I will let a pro work on it. Brad B. said he could repair it and match the finish well since he put the finish on in the first place. I will take some before and after photos and post them. -plc-

I am going to recommend Dave Wolf from Waco ,Tx. Phone is 254-848-4199. He has done an excellent job on all the ones I know about, and has repaired my personal one when a dog ran into me from behind going down a hill. Tell him I sent you and say Hi for me. Thanks
