Two Parkers from the past.

Hi all, i finanlly got the time to get the Parker's back out and take some pics. i first posted this on the restoration forum but i'm going to put the pics here. tried to get as much dteail as possible while staying within the file size limits. if anyone wants an original file size to zoom with let me know. i'll post the serial number 13616 first. it needs both hammers as the one that i got it with is the wrong one.

this old gal just needs a few parts and she can be shooting again a person wonders how such parts get lost on a old gun...im sure brian can help possible with some parts...charlie

That one has seen some use for sure! It would need a good inspection and cleaning before anything else is considered.

Bill, I noticed you have applied some penetrating oil to some of the screws. I can't be sure from the picture but it looks as if you might have applied some to the hinge pin. Are you planning to remove that also?
Hammers are out there but matching pairs are are very scarce. I passed on two sets about a year ago and am kicking myself for it now. I doubt the person that bought them will part with them. You might check with Brian Dudley, and Patrick Lein may be of some help to you. Both are good men that come up with some rare parts occasionally.

thanks guys, yes i did put some oil on the parts i may try and remove. i'm an old outboard motor fixer and i know all too well about siezed stuff?? the part attached to barrel on the hammer model that the forearm latches into is very loose so i'm not going any further with it until i see a guy in Melbourne, FL. a salesman at our new Bass Pro Shops in Palm Bay gave me his card and i think it's in my wallet?? he said if anyone can get parts, this guy can....... i would be very interested in a set of hammers but like you said, they are probably far and few between. i doubt that i will ever fire the older one even if i locate hammers. the ends of the barrels are very thin. i haven't measured them yet but i would guess they are less than .020. the butt plate has a lot of built up rust and i doubt you can bring it back without a hole in the deep spot.
i will keep ya'll posted. Brian, do you think there may be hammers out there??
