Brandon Hoffman, the layout artist at Village Press is incredibly talented and it shows in each issue. George and I were trying to decide on a backdrop for photographing his guns and then, all of a sudden I spied the stump of a huge oak George had removed a few years earlier and I knew right then what the backdrop would be. I'm glad he didn't hire a stump-grinder to remove it. Thanks for the compliment Brian. |

The back cover photo of Jay Gardner's "Tess" isn't too shabby either, could have been the centerfold.

agreed - I love that picture, it is one of the all time best setter photos I have ever seen. I would like to have a print to frame.

Craig, as I recall, one of Fred Gilbert's competition Parkers is in the collection of an obscure stockmaker from Maine, named David Trevallion. It was displayed in the Gold Medal Concours at Millbrook a few years back. I believe that gun was also written about in some publication a few years back.
