We'll be there for certain (wouldn't miss it).
If I had a 2015 calendar I would mark the dates... but I don't. |

I'll be there and I'll give Edgar a ride if he needs one- if he can stand my Connecticut cigars.

Was the tobacco cut on your own plantation on the river flats?

Hmmmm. The 3rd Saturday in April? Why is that date ringing a distant bell?
For some reason I smell a river bottom, feel the tug of a strong current about knee-high and envision a pat of butter, figure skating in my Dutch skillet. Haven't a clue why.

Actually, I also had no idea that they changed the opening date until the DEP Fish tanker unloaded about a hundred trout into the nice pool behind my office last week. So we can enjoy Tool Man's company without the fishy smell. |

I'm still in shock!! Leave it to The Nutmeg State to alter a century old tradition with a flick of the pen. Some dates are sacred, sewn into the very fabric of our lives. The third Saturday in April, like The Glorious Twelfth, is a prime example. I wonder how many thousands of CT anglers will never catch this one???
PS---Thanks Charlie Purple, I would have missed my first Opening Day in 44 years!
