Default Southern SxS Parker/Smith 20ga & 16ga Event

I have just talked to Rick Hemmingway and he is putting on the titled event. It will take place on Thursday April 22nd. Awards will be given for high gun 20ga, and 16ga. A Parker or Smith Team award will be given for the five highest scores from either Parker or Smith. Contestants may shoot as many times as they like for their highest score. Rounds consist of 30 targets at $20.00 each.
This is the same format as the 2019 event.

Also, Rick will have the 5 Stand courses open for pratice shooting on Wednesday afternoon. I hope you, like me are looking forward to seeing all the old familiar faces and some new ones too at this years Southern Side X Side.

All the best,

Buddy

Rick sets challenging targets which are fun to shoot.

I have shot many tournaments in the last 20+ years of shooting registered sporting, and the targets were set by many different people. Chuck was good, others too, but Rick H. runs the best "show" I've ever seen. Almost zero trap problems, and great targets. His goal is zero trap breakdowns and, being a registered shooter himself, he knows how to set great targets.

Being a member at Backwoods for the last nine years and working all the events watching Rick and his staff set targets I have learned something. Rick will almost never set a target where there is only a window, or just one spot to break the target. He allows different shooters with different styles not to be forced to try to break a target where they don't want to. I went to Hausman's my first time in 2019. Most all of the targets were set in alley ways or only one window to break the target.
