Good dog work had a slow start with a young dog/guide but made an adjustment and got onto birds immediately.

I’m glad you gad a good time Bob.
Grouse certainly are harder to find these past few years here in the Northeast, Maine included, and a few areas still have them in numbers. Woodcock certainly put the icing on the cake for me thiugh. But you can find woodcock in Florida late in the year.
Lately I’ve been depending on the last week in October and first week in November when the woodcock flights typically come through my area for some good shooting. Eventually we may be saying “woodcock - sure we’ve got plenty but ‘grouse are where you find ‘em.”

Am I reading your shell heads right Bob… is that a 20 gauge GHE with steel barrels and a fishtail lever? What a sweet gun!!

Looks like you had a great time, and that dog is a beauty, as is your little gun. Maybe you left enough woodcock so that you could pick up a few in Florida?

Yes a GHE 20ga unfortunately its not a complete gun, barrels are miss matched.Fitted by Brian perfectly and shoots awesome.I couldn't pass up for a technicality when I saw it for sale.Besides the gun doesn't know its not original.
