Default 16 gauge shot shells

Based on the availability of low pressure 16 gauge shell for 2-1/2” Damascus gun I’m thinking of reloading and could use some advice.
Looking for a load that would be similar to the RST falcon lite 1125 7/8 oz
Also opinions on roll crimped

Bob, I use RST or other cheddite hulls cut to 2 1/2" , SG 16 wad, and Universal 19.5 gr, cheddite or win209 primer . According to Hogdon reloading site this will give you 1125 fps and 7300 psi--just what you are looking for

Bob, you can also up that Universal to 19.9gr
. Listed at 1175 fps.

Since I have some Alliant powders (Red and Green Dot) on hand, I inquired of that company about a recipe for ¾-ounces of #8 lead shot for clay target shooting.

Here is today’s response (prompt, too, as I sent my inquiry last night!):

“Russell,

Alliant has no tested load data for the 16 gauge for a ¾ ounce load.
Without the tested load data we are unable to make a load recommendation.
Thanks,
……”

Is Alliant missing a market segment, or are our needs for low-recoil, economical loads for shooting multiple clay targets at the range so negligible that they do not even register as a segment?

.

Definitely negligible, a subset of clay shooters who also dont seem to be a priority.

There are some green dot loads allegedly tested by Fn16g from the 16 ga forum.
