The .033 choke in the Repro 28 gauge full choke barrel is some kind of world record for constriction in a 28 gauge barrel. The standard full choke for Parker Brothers is .020 in my experience, and they shoot very tight patterns. I may try a few patterns with the full choke Repro 28 gauge when the weather breaks. I will compare it with the full choke Parker Brothers barrels.

28 ga Chokes
Billl; a good friend had an English 28 with .050 of choke. He shot it fairly well at skeet but thought it should be opened because of the dimension. He reamed it out, and it still shot about IC. I just spent a few days remeasuring Parker chokes as a result of my visit to Julia's to examine theSuper Fox. The more I learn about chokes, the less I know.

I don't mind tight chokes and shoot them quite well....center the target and it goes POOF...My question is ...does the tight choking do harm to the pattern quality in general...overchoke? Industry standard full in 28gauge is .020 of choke, My gun reads .033 as does most of the parker repro's in 28gauge full. I own 3 of them. I know there is a lot that effect patern quality besides the choke, Im looking for imput that others have learned about tight choked 28 gauges. thanks all Kenny Graft SXS Ohio...(-:

I would pattern gun on a sheet of cardboard with a 30" circle, count the pellets in the circle and compare to quantity in load, there are charts for shot size and weight. I've been doing this for a couple of years now and it answers allot of questions real fast. Gun shoots high, too the left, this load has a hole in pattern. One load may shoot poorly next may pattern well.

Does anyone have the actual Repro measurements for Q1 & Q2? I'd like to know the "Briley" equivalent (i.e. is it LTSK & SK, or SK & IMK).

I have a 28-ga. Q1/Q2 that measures .004/.008 of constriction, my 20-ga. Q1/Q2 mikes .004/.007

My 28 ga. 26" Q1/Q2 measures exactly the same as Greg's
