Gary,
Our Gordon, Cedar, is in her last days, succumbing to cancer at 9 years. I could not have more empathy for you. I don't think there is anything to say that lessens the pain, but as you have read in the posts already made, there are folks who care deeply about your loss, and all of us who have given our hearts to a dog share that loss. So hard to lose that friend, but so rich are we who have had that close bond. There is absolutely nothing like the relationship between a hunter and his/her companion. I hope your pain is short lived and that the good memories burn brightly in the days ahead.
