I wish it wasn't so far away. |

Just a plug here for the Central PA shoot and a big THANK YOU to Chuck for setting it up over many years now. Blue Ridge is a little northeast of Harrisburg PA (near Fort Indiantown Gap) and just a few miles off I-81. It's an excellent clays venue, easy to walk, and the setup is casual. The SxS shooters meet at the clubhouse where light breakfast is available. Newbies are always welcome. Shooters will break up into squads at about 9:30ish and do the course which in the past has been 100 birds. It's not a tournament course and most of the SxS shooters are just there for casual shooting and fun. I forget the cost but it's nominal. In the past there have been tables in the back room with SxS's for sale, not a large number but better deals than at the typical gun show. Lunch is also available from the Blue Ridge ladies. Overall this is a good opportunity for those within a few hours drive to break the winter blues and to meet and get your feet wet with other SxS shooters, many of the same gents and ladies you'll see at the much larger NE SxS at Hidden Hollow, the new Northern SxS at Rock Mtn, and other regional shoots.

Tomorrow is looking like a beautiful day so come out to Blue Ridge and burn some powder. The sporting clays course is 100 targets and the wobble trap is 25 targets. The 5 stand will not be open due to construction. Shooting starts at 9:00am and last squad out at 3:00pm.
Please sign the roster at the registration desk so I have a head count. Registration will try and squad all SxS shooters together if possible. The kitchen will be open for a light breakfast and lunch. Did I mention the homemade pies? The back room of the clubhouse will be available for displaying or selling guns. I’ll have my barrel mics with me if you want your bores and chokes measured. We’ll take a group picture at 12:30pm. See you there ! Chuck Bishop |

I attended for the first time today. I had a great time on a nice 100 bird course. If you like to shoot more than a few shells, this is the shoot and the club for you. All stations are equipped with score pad platforms where you place your pad and pull your birds. Score pads are equipped with button and pigtail which you plug in at the platform. The score pad never gets separated from the button or the platform. What a great system. No cords, no loose score pad, no loose button. A well kept secret is that 100 birds cost me $22.00. Thanks, Chuck.

Great time Chuck. Murph is right, it's a great course, we had splendid weather and most important was spending time seeing old friends, neat guns and tons of BS. Wait a minute Bill, how did you get member rates? I shot with Chuck and did'nt get a break.
Man I'll tell you I need some work pulling the trigger and getting back in shape for the Southern. It was also nice meeting Gary Loudermilch and his friends. Nice to put a face with a name.
