Default AH grade skeleton buttplate

I'm trying to find a good closeup photo of the engraving pattern used on AH grade guns. I don't recall seeing any in TPS but need to look closely again. If anyone has one and cares to post I would much appreciate it. Thanks in advance, Kevin.

All I have Kevin are pics of a AA skeleton I just sold a couple of weeks ago. Happy to post them if you’re interested.

Yes Dean - please post - I'm trying to compare how much more elaborate the AA style may be over the A. Thank you!

Brian - RATS!! I am currently "away from my books" (TPS) so can't look it up yet. But thanks for the heads up!

I will add that there is going to be a very big jump in engraving coverage on the SSBP between A and AA. So, deans example of a AA plate will not really be representative of what Kevin is looking. Thank you for sharing though. That Medium relief type engraving was not really used until the AA grade. And even then not on all AAs.
Since most A grade guns followed the lines of finer scroll work with game, Pats example, and the one on the TPS page that I referenced would be pretty indicative of what an SSBP would look like on that grade.

Brian - thanks for the contrasting impressions of the A vs. AA buttplate engraving pattern, execution and coverage - this is exactly what my thinking is; that the AA motif is much higher in elaboration than the A by a couple of orders of magnitude.

Patrick, thanks for posting the photo of the A; sparser coverage but no less elegant and refined.

Dean, thanks again for the great shots of the AA - again amplifies what Brian has said.

There is an AHE 20 gauge for sale on Steve Barnett's site that has a great pic of the SSBP.
