Good Morning Bill ,This is probably not what you meant ,but I thought it was kind of a neat addition . I recently sold this VH 12 Ga. but if you take a look around the screws ,you will notice a slight extra in the engraving pattern in the first VH Grade compared to the second ,it is a VHE 20 with much more condidion and a few years newer than the first gun !

Thanks Russ, I was just searching to see if anyone back in the day ordered a low grade gun with a little more detail added....A personal touch that made theirs different.

Occasionally you will see low-grade guns (P-, V- and G-grade) with a little more engraving on them. These are invariably what the factory engravers refer to as "Friday afternoon" guns; instead of starting a new gun late in the day, many engravers would linger over the gun on their bench to round out the day's work, which was paid by the hour. Characteristic touches included extra "curleycues" around the screws, bolder termination tails of straight lines and the like.
