To restore or not
My dad had given me this hammer gun in the 80’s. It has stayed in the gun box until a year or so ago when I posted some photos on this site and was fortunate enough for some good info from the group. Turns out to be a Folsom trap gun low grade not highly valuable so having it redone was questionable. I’m not terribly fond of refinished guns and tend to stay away from them.
After much deliberation I decided to get it restored.
Barrels went to Breck Gorman, fabulous job.
Stock, fore end went to Dan Cullity and sons on the cape, also fabulous.
Picked it up and assembled the gun today and was very happy with the out come can’t wait to shoot it, now to load some 2-1/2’ shells.

What a lovely job. That is what I think a restoration should look like--not brand new, but with the patina of a gun very well kept. Hope it shoots well.
