New to me 129 yr old Parker

I really "need" a 20ga or 28ga, but I bought another 12 recently. I just liked it, so....

It appears that Mr. Hubbard was hard on barrels. I don't know what ever happened to the 2nd set of twist barrels. They aren't with the gun anymore. Maybe Mr. Hubbard dented them beyond repair?

The original barrels were bored out to cylinder choke on both sides somewhere along the way. That suits me fine anyway, as I'll likely only use it for dove and quail with light loads anyway. Other than that, it doesn't appear that much has changed on the gun. Engraving is worn, but still there. A little case color still evident here and there, but not much. Cool old gun. I just couldn't pass it up.

That is a great D grade! The wood is beautiful, light and clean. And I love that style of scrollwork on the sides of the frame.

Shane I can see why you had to have it, that's a beautiful D grade and a relatively lightweight 12. What frame is it built on and what does it weigh today ? Congrats on a great find !

I haven't weighed it. It's a 1 frame. Feels fairly dainty for a 12ga. The stock dimensions fit me like it was made for me. It was a good find.

Nice D-grade for sure. My first thoughts on the barrels after seeing the factory weight of the gun being under 7lb's is that the tubes were struck very light and would be more prone to denting due to the wall thickness of the barrels.

I have a DH 12 similar to this one that tip's the scales well under 7lb's and it is sporting some light weight tubes, but it sure is a pleasure to carry in the field.
