Not so; not so! I was out in my yard fooling with my boat, motor and decoys when the 'Great Quake' struck at 1:51PM!! You could hear the sound and watch the huge trees move against the sky background. The sensation was sort of like standing on the ice on a tidal pond down on the Bay when a large boat goes by out on the river and the ice ripples but doesn't break - freaky!
My dog came out of her kennel and looked around like she does just before a fox comes out of the woodline - 'whazzup?' I realized later during my sporting clays round why I was missing the easy targets and nailing the 'screamers' - sort of like "The Hunt for Red October"; I was experiencing a 'seismic anomoly." FWIW, I had my 'moment' in the tower one afternoon in late Sept. when I went all the way up to do my annual R&R on the trap: a 25-30 KT. wind came up and we swinged and swayed for about 20 minutes. After I came down on the ground, I felt just like I'd spent a day on the Bay trolling for rockfish in rough seas - spongy!! |

Breaking News:
President Obama has just confirmed that the DC earthquake occurred on a rare and obscure fault-line, apparently known as "Bush's Fault". |
