Another stellar day with Mick!!

Had Mick out to Ringneck Ridge for his second training day. He found and pointed all six chukar! Even pointed a dead rooster. He held steady to wing and shot and found every bird that dropped and we were hunting sorghum and snow. We’ll go out again next week. He is doing great. As Ken Bach said, “Looks like you have a bird dog!” Plus, the 16g Parker stoned them all. Birds, dogs and classic doubles, doesn’t get any better than that.

Update, had Mick out again on Monday 3/15. Winds were a steady 20MPH with gusts over 30. He still found and pointed every bird but one that flushed wild way before we even got near it. He had to work extra hard because of the scent being blown all over creation, but he was up to the task. He had no trouble finding the birds after I shot them. Taking him out again next Monday 3/22. Looks like I'll have four Setters to hunt next season!!
