![]() thanks - ok as expected a D3 hammerless - not sure what the 0 (its a 1 frame) or C (choked?) represents & 12 bore with 28 inch damascus tubes so the barrels are not cut (one fear down)- but they have been honed - severely I am afraid, need to go back with tools to look at that . locks up tight, decent stock to skeletal buttplate, good plus condition on the engraving, no color left. the foreend looks to have been rasped down to remove what might have been dog chewing - hmmm - thinking thinking -

Just putting away some magazines and took a look through the spring 2012 Parker Pages.
It says the 55845 is the earliest reported Hammerless Parker, right in front of that it states that 55314 - is an EH 10 gauge, and is 23 numbers before the first hammerless. So a stupid question- if I understand this correctly - according to the book or factory records 55337 was the first hammerless Parker made - but where abouts is unknown - at least to this group? And that is why 55845 is the earliest "reported" hamerless Parker??

55295 is the first hammerless Parker according to the "Parker Story". It's a G grade gun. 55296 is a D grade gun and we know where it is.

I was just going by the Parker Pages "firsts" list, this number like any gun needs to stand on its own merits but being an earliest hammerless known would be a neat extra
