Default GH Question

I am looking at a 12 gauge GHE
I am being told by the owner it is a 26" and he shows a picture of the serial number
I went to the book and it says there its a 28"
I would like to buy this gun
Any thoughts on why the serial number is on this gun on a 26" (barrels?)

i would guess one of two possibilties

the book is wrong - does happen
the barrels were cut -happens more

Mark ,There are only a few reasons in my mind ,One is ,The Book might be wrong as it has been on occasion or ,The Barrels have been cut, or the Seller can't read a Tape Measure ! If you could post pictures of the end of the barrels showing if the Barrels are touching and the top of the barrels at the front edge of the matting ,you would get opinions on whether the barrels have been cut or if they are correct ! Also ,What are the Chokes ,it would be very uncommon to have Full Choke in either Barrel if the barrels have been cut ! Just my opinion ! Russ

If it's the GHE "Skeet" gun--I believe it was rebarreled by Remington. There was NO game of skeet when this gun was made--1922. Nice looking gun--if its the same one and probably refinished at some point in time. If its another gun--sorry!!

I saw the GHE "Skeet". I think it's a Del Grego conversion with his case colors.
