Default What are the odds...

...of finding orphaned 8 gauge barrels that could be fit for a 6 frame 10 gauge?

rounds worth there have been a set or two over the years on the internet...even our silent auction had a lifter 8 ga in the rough...i believe it to be possible to pirate one of those really thich ten ga spanish guns and take the barrels and bore to 8 ga...this has been done...then i would get a ten ga parker barrels and use all the hardware off barrels and mate to spanish barrels...just a suggestion but it could be done and if you have a machinest friend it would not cost a arm and a leg... is you 6 frame ten a hammer or hammerless gun.... charlie

Charlie, my 6 frame gun is a hammerless 10 gauge. The unstruck weight of the barrels is 8 and 4.

Charlie I think you're way off base on the whole idea of the Spanish barrels. If you could find somebody to take on the project it would cost thousands.

The first thing that has to match exactly when using those Spanish barrels is the pin separation. The chance of that matching is pretty slim.

I was thinking of trying to find an orphan set of barrels for my 8 gauge project, but this thread confirmed my suspicions about it being impossible.

By the way, a 6 frame 10 gauge would be cool. I hope Roundsworth has the whole gun.
