Default DHE 12- 28-#1 frame

Hello All, I was just informed of a DH not on the open market but for sale that is 12 -28- #1 frame, splinter PG & pad and good shooting condition checkering and engraving excellent but gun shows considerable use but has been cared for.90 % barrel blue traces of CC. Does the #1 frame increase the desirability or take some of it away. I do not have a picture as of yet but conversation will lead to whether it has ejectors refitted. It is a early 1900's gun matches the serial book shows gun having no ejectors. stock wood is fairly plain. I am interested to know the fair value as I am interested in purchase. Thanks much Hope everyone is having a good Christmas season thus far! Best,Paul

Hello Paul. You know some early 1 frame 12's are real clunkers, heavy and not balanced well. Others are sublime light game guns. This gun could be anywhere. Non ejector guns and plain wood usually dictate a lower price. I know, some people wouldn't have an ejector gun, etc etc, but the market strongly favors ejectors. I would not hazzard a guess on value without at least seeing photos and then I would not do it publicly.

Default Thanks Bruce ......

Sometimes things are not what they first appear to be. I am going to wait a few days for more pictures. I agree, I do not always think ejectors are a neccessity however popular demand and realized value on sold guns tells us they do add significant value to a gun. This is a gun I must see more pictures and then handle to get a feel for the liveliness of the gun in hand. Thanks for your input Best,Paul
