Default Question for the Parkerphiles:

I have a Parker VH, Serial No. 208346, #2 Frame, 32" Barrels, (Yes, full & full). I think it is a 1924 gun, according to serial no. book, and no, it's not in the book; it's one of the "missing."

Anyway, the top lever seems to be a semi-fish-tail, in that it is somewhat bent in a mild curve to the right, then curving back to the left. It's got a little "bow" in it.
Is this normal on these guns?
I've owned a few Parkers, but this is the first one I have noticed this on.

Yes, I will get a letter.........Jeez, guys, I just got it last night, and have been cleaning up the old gunk.....now, where's that Murphy's Oil Soap?

Common on early 1890's guns, very unusual on late guns such as 208, 346. Many people find them to be a nice touch.

Sam, The gun is way late for the classic fishtail top lever...but who knows..

How about some photos? I am working on something for Parker Pages and that would fit right in.

Dave;

It's not a classic fishtail. I've seen and handled those. And, know what they look like.
This is more like a wannabe fishtail, or maybe it's simply a bent top lever.

I am lousy with the pictures, but want to have the fellows help me on deciding if a bolt behind the receiver that is poorly hidden can be fixed by someone anyway.
So, I will try to take, then post pictures. I am a 70 year old trap shooter; and have decided that next season, it's gonna be with a 32" Parker.
The first time I run 25, I will be insufferable, and will need to be punctured with a needle so I don't float off. (But, first, I gotta do it.)

Thanks,
Sam Ogle
