Default Parker Trojan with Twist Barrels

I just acquired a Trojan witrh Twist Barrels and have gladly added it to the collection

12ga, 13 7/8" lop, chambered for (I think) 2 5/8"? pistol grip and ribbed butt plat. I checked my copy of the TPS and found a small amount mentioned. Any further information or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Lloyd

Lloyd, What great find! I had heard about these guns. How about some more pictures? Maybe a write up for Parker Pages? Our membership would just love to read about that great gun!

Its possibly an Iver Johnson ordered gun. Get a research letter. Jim Hall owns one. An unusual item of Parker esoterica.

The X markings on the gun, I don't know what to make of that. You might contact him and ask. He had done some research on these guns and told me about them. I understand Iver Johnson ordered forty of them and sold them at their store, maybe they got them at close out prices, the books might tell. I don't know how many are known today.

Glad you are not hurt, Calvin. High winds all the way from Texas through the northern plains.

On 8/5/2010, I posted photos of Jim Hall's Twist barreled Trojan, and re-post them here now. I stopped by Jimmy's place in tidewater Virginia on my departure from the BSA Nat'l Jamboree at Ft A P Hill and got to see his wonderful collection and gun room.

Forty were made, on an Iver Johnson order.

As you can see it is also a 1 frame 12ga, with X stamps. His has a Miller single trigger. I don't know how many still exist today, perhaps Jim knows.
