The Affair
It started the same way all affairs begin...innocently without malice. I was just cruising the web one evening not looking for anything special just bored and wasting time. I had gone through several of my "favorites" and was almost ready to log off when she popped up as if out of nowhere. She was pettie, her statistics gave the impression she would be fast and nimble in the right hands and she had a butt that was to die for. Just to put iceing on the cake she is English. I have always had a secret desire for the English persuasion.
She was dropd dead georgeous and way out of my league so I figgured I was safe as there was no way we would ever connect. The more I looked the more enamored I became it was like an addictive drug I just couldn't pull away from. Any time I was at the computer I'd pull up her picture and imagine what would be like to have her for my very own. She was classy in every sense of the word and I relinqished myself to the fact that the computer screen was as close as i was ever going to come to her.
Fate can and does play cruel trick on a person. While attending one of the SXS shoots there she was in the flesh. She had come with a southern gentleman who I happened to know and he introduced us. She liked to hunt but favored Rough Shooting to Driven birds. I asked if she had ever hunted Grouse and she replied negatively but added that it sounded like fun. We were getting along and took a walk to the Sporting Clays course. It was here that she revealed a slight problem she was haveing internally that would require professional help and that if we were to get along and further the possibility of a relationship she wanted to be upfront and honest. To say I was smitten would be an understatement.
The weeks went by and one day I got an E-Mail that her problem had been succesfully corrected and if i was still interested in her she would like to come to Michigan for a visit. Boy was I! She came and was a delight to hold and more wonderfull than I remembered. Were looking forward to our first Grouse hunt together in September.
Be carefull what you wish for it just might come true, thats how I became the current caretaker of a wonderfull Holland & Holland 20 bore.
