Default Time Bomb?

Would this stock be likely to crack/break given the grain appears to be vertical through the head and wrist? Interestingly the grain is horizontal on the other side!

Yeah, that one would be asking for trouble. It should have some reinforcement added to it as a precaution from future damage.
