Default Unable to assemble DHE

Gentleman,
While assembling my 16 ga DHE yesterday, when I was attaching the forearm, I slipped (very hot, hands sweaty), I heard a little click, and I could not fit the forearm on. What did I do and how do I undo it?
Thanks
Randy

Randy, you probably tripped one of the ejector hammers. The ejector hammers must be "cocked" or reset to reattach the forend.

Use the end of a thick dowel and brace the forearm and your grip. Don't slip.

I used this method for years and was always nervous of slipping, though nothing ill ever happened. I have found it easier, if not safer, to remove the barrels, put the fore end onto the barrels and push in the tripped ejector.
