Morning sunlight in the gun cabinet:
The morning sunlight in this cabinet only lasts for a few moments and I captured this view of some Parkers today. I used to hide my guns away in a safe, but since I sourced some nice inexpensive gun cabinets I can enjoy them all the time. It's kind of a PITA to secure them back into the safe before extended traveling but that's just the reality we live in.
When I inquired about the history of a recent antique shotgun acquisition it was a common reply, "The widow just wanted them out of the house." It's sad knowing that all of my vintage firearms original owners have passed on. That's the major reason we see many vintage firearms surface.
Reflecting back, all the talented craftsmen, all the factories, all the management, sales teams, even the retail businesses marketing the vintage era firearms are mostly no more.
In the larger scheme of things our personal ownership of our cherished possessions really only lasts for a few moments. We really don't own our collections, we are simply temporary loving caretakers.
