Question ROCK ISLAND AUCTION RESULTS

The verdicts in on RIA'S auction last weekend, Twelve Parkes were offered & all sold. Fair prices IMO but a few surprises. They are as follows:

Lot #706 20 gauge DHE Winchester re-pro cased $ 4,600.00
Lot #718 16 gauge Trojan 1,265.00
Lot #1829 28 gauge refinished AH 28 gauge 34,500.00
Lot #1835 20 gauge BHE Winchester re-pro cased 9,775.00
Lot #1836 28 gauge DHE Winchester re-pro cased (go figure) 7,475.00
Lot #3445 12 gauge Grade 1 Lifter Hammer w/ case 5,175.00
Lot #3446 10 gauge Grade 3 Hammergun 2-bbl set w/ letter 2,587.00
Lot #3447 12 gauge VH 1,380.00
Lot #3468 12 gauge BH live bird gun refinished (The one I wanted) 2,875.00
Lot #3469 12 gauge GH Damascus (I wish I'd bid on this one) 862.50
Lot #3472 12 gauge VH 1,265.00
Lot #3471 12 gauge VH 1,150.00

In my opinion #3446, #3468 & #3469 went below what they were worth.

Best Regards, George

So, George, why couldn't you see paying $2900 for a BH? I guess I'll have to look at the catalog.

LOT 1823 PARKER REPRO 28 Ga

Sometimes I have seen wealthy people figure that the gun is here, it fits, and I dont have to look anymore. The extra money paid in their mind is made up on other deals to come. There are several Gundealers that always get more for their Parkers because they stroke their buyers ego I guess.

$4600 for a Repro 20?? Am I missing something? Was it a 2-bbl set or a custom gun??? The GH for $862 was a steal I'd say. Pretty nice and seemingly unmolested gun.

I agree with Rich, $4600 for a repro 20? I don't get it.

Well Bill, If I had any idea that it was going to go that cheap I certainly would have been in there. I just decided that I wasn't going to bid this time around. It was heavily refinished & the pictures didn't look that great IMO.

Best Regards, George

I was prepared to bid in the 2 hammer guns and the live bird BH but I must be going senile because I completely forgot to call and register as a phone bidder, so I'll be kicking myself for the next 6 months !

I find it just as mystifying that a Repro 28 ga. would hammer at $7475
