Default Getting Ready

With the upcoming bird season only weeks away and a return trip to New Brunswick for grouse and woodcock in less than 10 days we needed to get our now three year old Britt "Miss. Shea" on some birds. After a long hot summer we wanted to remind her of what she was born to do. We released some chuckers into a three year old cutover and it was obvious she was ready to go. This kind of work is not a replacement for wild birds but is fun and effective for man and dog.

It is Mills, and the dinner afterward is 5-star quality.

Go get em Larry!

BTW, Thank you both so much for your friendship!

If you've not bird hunted over a well-sorted Brittany, you haven't hunted. My $.02...

Have a safe trip Larry and take plenty of pics. What guns will you be taking?

Thanks Daryl,
One of the guns I will be hunting with is the straight grip DHE 20 in the photo with the 26" Damascus barrels. I brought that gun last year but used the 24" Titanic barrels that also go with that gun. I will also be bringing up the straight grip VH 28 gage with 27" barrels that I picked up in the auction yesterday. Last year we had a great time even though it rained on and off for a couple of the days. Heck it sure beats working!

Wow, a VH28 with 27" barrels. Are they original?
Yup, the worst day hunting still beats the best day at work.

Congratulations on that one Larry. That should be a real sweet shooter!
