Default Larry Del Grego

i had the honor to attend the PGCA HOF Banquet on April 24th. While reading about it in the PP I was reminded about meeting Larry Del Grego. I happened to walk up to the bar at Ruth's Chris Steak House and he was standing there alone. I congratulated him and thanked him for being such a big part of the continuing Parker Story. He couldn't have been nicer and was willing to engage in conversation. We talked about the news story, a gun they refurbished which I own and just made friendly small talk for about 10 minutes. He was a great guy and I thought if we lived closer we would probably have been friends. I hope to run into him again some day.

I could not agree more Mike. I have had Larry do work for me on 3 different occasions and each time I called him, he was very polite and most helpful. I never felt he was rushing to get off the phone, and chatted about other things than just the work I was sending. A true gentleman and professional.

Are we talking about "Babe" or Lawrence here?

Lawrence did some work for me a few years ago. Great job, did what was asked, made some recommendations, etc I will go back when I need more work done.

I'm talking about Lawrence. He went by Larry on his name tag.

I too talked with Lawrence at the bar. He talked and talked and I listened and listened. Same with Babe when I visited in Ilion a year or so ago. So many stories they can tell. I told Lawrence that his father should write or record his experiences and he said he is trying to get his father to do so. They are good people!

Sorry to say I have never had the pleasure of meeting Larry in person but called the shop one afternoon to discuss a couple of guns and he couldn't have been more pleasant to talk with ! We discussed my DelGrego / Runge Upgrade , BHE 410 in depth and a couple of other guns ,we must have been on the phone close to an hour ! Very enjoyable conversation and very informative ,I look most forward to meeting Him in the near future !

I was in Larry's shop last Thursday for some repairs and it took him about 5 minutes to assess the situation and I was still there 1 1/2 hrs later. Showed me around and we discussed all things guns-Parker and otherwise. Also got to meet Babe and talked with him for a few minutes. When I left I felt like my gun and I were in good hands.
