Pin fire cape gun

Received my new (old) pin fire today in the mail. It is a 20ga x 58cal (1.5" case). Both bores are mint and the hammer faces are unmarked. They show no signs of gas cutting. I think the gun may be unfired. Except for the repair to the wrist the gun looks great. If anybody recognizes the name of the maker please chime in. I think it is German. There are no proof marks on the gun what so ever. Any help would be appreciated.

I (J?) ung and son of SUHL = umlaut and all - definitely German

I had forgotten about that sight. I will try that. I was told that it was Johann Friedrick Jung and sons Suhl. But I am not sure. They said that Jung was actually pronounced Young.

I don't know Charlie. I will have to order some brass next week and load for it. This is going to be a little tougher project.

a German J sounds like an English Y

just as jeager (hunter) is pronounced Yea-ger

I tried to do a search on the German Gun Collectors site last nite but you have to join the forum. They were asking a question I did not understand. So I asked a friend today and found out what I needed to register. I will try again to register.

Do you happen to have one of the 58 cal cases ? The whole pin fire thing intrigues me , my only qualm is carrying extra cartridges .
